When I’m in Finland, somehow I feel that my
heart is still in Kenya. I’m Seppo Piisola and I’m a WorldRemit customer. I live in Mikkeli, Finland. I’m a coordinator for the scouts and a collector of Volkswagen beetles. I lived in Kenya for 11 years.
I moved there to build schools in the Maasai area and that’s when I met Jennifer. My name is Jennifer Mwetarin. I am a Maasai
girl and this is the place I was born. Jennifer was blind. I was, at the time, to
teach Jennifer because she can’t see. And she couldn’t walk, so I realised that
she doesn’t have any future. When we were discussing about school, I decided to help
her go to school and to get a good education. Seppo was my mentor in terms of education. I used to send some money through banks but
it was complicated and took a lot of time and a lot of money. But I am happy because
of this WorldRemit. It goes fast. [Phone] Confirmed. You have received fifteen
thousand… Jennifer gets it so easily. There are a lot of those M-PESA offices where she can collect her money. She doesn’t have to carry anything. Computers, any accounts, anything. So she just has her own mobile phone. I use the money for paying school fees. I
use the money for paying the house rent. She is now in training. I feel very happy because
she was my fruits and I feel very happy in my heart. Aaah. Jennifer! So nice to see you. [Singing] We hope that Jennifer will finish her studies. In the future she will be something. Seppo wanted me to know that in life I can be somebody. So we are deeply connected together. It is not only that I’m a visitor.
I’m one of them. [SINGING]
